SHA-256D Proof of Work
Compatible SHA-256 ASIC hardware can participate through the public VargaCoin Stratum endpoint.
VargaCoin (VARG) is currently running as a public DEV network: an independent proof-of-work blockchain built from Bitcoin Core technology for open SHA-256D mining, wallet, explorer and consensus testing before the final Mainnet launch.
The current DEV chain is for public testing. DEV-VARG will not automatically migrate to the future Mainnet. The target launch is December 30, 2026, subject to completion of the published readiness milestones.
VARG is designed around transparent proof-of-work rules that anyone can verify with a VargaCoin node.
Compatible SHA-256 ASIC hardware can participate through the public VargaCoin Stratum endpoint.
The genesis reward is zero. New VARG enters circulation through block rewards and fees.
Create native varg1… addresses. Browser wallet keys are encrypted locally with your wallet password and are never sent to the server.
The DEV phase is for focused tests before the year-end Mainnet target. Short mining tests, wallet checks and independent validation are useful; continuous DEV mining is not expected.
Connect compatible SHA-256D hardware for a short test window to verify jobs, shares, block submission and reconnect behavior. DEV rewards do not migrate to Mainnet.
Create a test wallet, receive DEV-VARG, inspect maturity and transactions, and verify the same activity in the Explorer.
Share the public DEV network with SHA-256D home miners. More independent participants make the test phase more useful.

Use your VARG Web Wallet to publish a cryptographically verified “I’m in” signal for mining, node operation, DEV testing or participation.
